Scholarships

East Carolina University has many scholarships that have been made available through the generous donations of alumni and friends of the university. Scholarship eligibility, criteria, and amounts vary and may change at any time. To learn more, visit the Office of University Scholarships.

Students can view available scholarships and their requirements through the ECUAward Scholarship Portal. It is through this portal that students can apply to multiple scholarships at once through one general application. However, please note some scholarships require additional information, supplemental questions, letters of recommendation, etc. for applicants to be fully considered.

University Studies Scholarship

The University Studies Program offers a scholarship every year to high-achieving students who may also need financial assistance. Students can apply for this award through the ECUAward portal. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a 2.0 GPA or higher to be considered. Several supplemental questions must be answered in addition to completion of the general ECUAward application.

The scholarship, and BS-US, have been tremendous assets in motivating me to complete my degree.  The University Studies Scholarship alleviated a lot of financial stress, and the BS-US offered me the flexibility I needed to tailor a degree to fit my core career interest and strengths.  I believe the BS-US is an excellent option for nontraditional, adult students with previous (valuable) credits that cannot be applied towards a traditional degree.  In my opinion, the BS-US build-a-degree model is the future of higher education for students at any age.”
